FSC INTERNATIONAL  COOPERATION

The project "Chain of custody standards revision: a two way street" aims to improve the revision of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody (CoC) standard.

CLB Switzerland, with its mandate from FSC Switzerland, is involved in the project management and is working together with FSC International on possible solutions.

The aim is to achieve constructive stakeholder participation in order to achieve a high level of satisfaction among chain of custody certificate holders and stakeholders after the revision process.

There are three main objectives:

1.     increasing constructive participation,

2.     focusing on relevant issues, and

3.     increasing internal knowledge.

To achieve these goals, a SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for stakeholder interaction will be developed at both National Office and FSC International levels to optimise the collaboration of all stakeholders in the review process.

An assessment report will be produced to increase internal understanding of the challenges in the chain of custody. The project relies on close cooperation with the involved actors and stakeholders to make the revision process transparent and effective.
